The mining industry is known for its diverse processes and extreme conditions.

Mineral extraction processes, slurry handling and wastewater management require robust and durable equipment to maintain operational efficiency.

In this context, the Vaycom Engineering KM Slurry Knife Gate Valve is an ideal choice for processes where abrasive or chemical fluids create problems for other types of valves.

The Vaycom KM Slurry valve is specially designed to work in the mining industry, with abrasive fluids, especially in conveying lines for slurry and stone laden fluids, and others such as the chemical industry, waste water and paper industry.

Design of the KM Slurry Guillotine Valve Vaycom

The KM valve is the perfect solution for the most severe conditions, providing optimum performance and durability in mining, wastewater, chemical, pulp and paper and other applications, thanks to its bi-directional wafer design.

The hubs are perfectly manufactured to withstand the wear and deformations of the process, incorporating a metal core for rigidity, and a design that supports the passage of the fluid so that it generates the least possible wear. The sleeves are usually made of EPDM, natural rubber or Nitrile.

The KM Slurry valve is available in a wide range of sizes, from DN80/3″ to DN300/12″. Sizes from DN350/14″ to DN600/24” are available on request.

Standard flange drilling sizes are DIN PN10, DIN PN16 and ASME B16.5 (class 150), other bore sizes can be manufactured on request.

Materials

The quality of the materials used in the construction of the KM Knife Gate Valve is essential for its longevity and performance.

The valve body is normally made of nodular iron GJS500 (GG40) but can be manufactured in other materials such as WCB, CF8M, DUPLEX or SUPER DUPLEX on request.

The gate is available in stainless steel AISI304 and AISI316. Other materials such as DUPLEX or SUPER DUPLEX on request.

KM Slurry valve: Applications and Sectors

The Vaycom KM Slurry knife gate valve is primarily designed for the mining sector, although it can be used in a wide variety of applications such as waste water handling, pulp and paper and chemical production.

Its ability to handle abrasive fluids, slurries and chemicals makes it an optimal solution in a wide variety of applications.

Drives and Components

To suit the specific needs of your application, the KM Slurry Knife Gate Valve offers a variety of actuators: Flywheel and pneumatic gearboxes, motors and hydraulics (gearbox, handwheel, pneumatic, hydraulic and electric).

Depending on customer requirements, components such as wiper register, limit switches, proximity switches, proximity switches and solenoid valves can be included to enhance the functionality of the assembly.
